Victorian beaded necklace
Antique-Victorian-Mourning-Necklace-Pendant-Faceted-Glass-and-Brass-Seed-Beads/142632500878
|
From the item listing: A stunning, rare early Victorian loom seed beaded mourning necklace with pendant. Each decorative piece is connected by 8 strands of beads. The seed beads are black faceted glass and faceted brass. The brass seed beads being those that detail the motifs of flies/bees and outside edges of the connecting strands. They also form the laurel leaf motif on the pendant. The laurel leaves on this necklace would represent peace and triumph, and worldly accomplishment, while the fly, being a popular Victorian naturalist motif was a symbol of humility. In 1860 Victorians had a passion for wearing all things insects and this necklace is a fabulous example of this vogue.

Victorian beaded wall pocket
162220947 victorian-gothic-wall-pocket-black
|
Victorian wall pocket with floral beadwork and beaded initials, on black velvet, lined and backed with red wool fabric. Wall pockets were made of various materials, wood, ceramics, metal, leather, and fabric. Sherlock Holmes used a "Persian slipper" to keep his tobacco in, possibly also as a wall pocket. Dutch farmers may nail a wooden shoe that's too badly worn, to the wall of a barn to serve as wall pocket. This wall pocket is covered in fabric, and possibly backed in wood, as it is still straight and firm after decennia of use. The pattern is a tracing, and the "toe" is a bit of a guess, since we had access to images only and not to the original item. Width can be adapted if you want the toe narrower or wider.

Beaded bag No. 1
Den Haan & Wagenmakers, Edam
|
Pattern for a knitted bag with beading, also suitable for cross-stitch. A parrot sitting on a fence looking down at a dog. The top of the bag has a floral border which can be used independently. The bottom of the bag is a floral design with three red flowers, and blue leaves on a lighter blue background.
The middle pattern has an error; the pillar behind the dogs tail does not run all the way to the bottom. Also, the mountain in the background is cut off rather abruptly. Probably this is an adaption of a larger pattern, that has been cropped to suit the dimensions of the bag.
