Half of the pages show pot holder illustrations and recipes , the other half has the patterns for the crocheted potholders. Square potholders, round, in the shape of dogs, cats, pot and kettle, floral, mitten and shoe, fan, root and maize. Some pot holders are appliqued or embroiderd afterwards. The recipes are for Scotch Scones, Oyster Bisque, Dogs à La, Barbecued Spare Ribs, Parsley Puffs, Eggs Foo Young, Watercress Stuffing, Russian Pilaf, Curry of Shrimp, Green Tomato Pickles, Iced Fruit Soup, Chicken Gumbo.
