IHS Chair seat

Journal des Jeunes Personnes, 2, Rue St. Dominque St. Germain

Beautiful chair seat design, with a cross of flowers and in the center an IHS motif - In Hoc Signo. That motif could of course be used separately as well. Large pattern, partially shown (chart is complete) printed on cream paper. Design by Maison Thorel, 153, Rue St. Denis, Paris. The Journal des Jeunes Personnes generally had simpler patterns suitable for younger needleworkers, but this is quite a piece of work.

From the collection of Marleen van Horssen, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma.
