Bury St. Edmunds Cathedral Kneelers

Selection of photos

Forty-eight photographs of kneelers in the cathedral of Bury St. Edmunds. This is a small sample of the phenomenal collection of embroidered kneelers in that church. All were embroidered in the 60s, two for each parish, and there's around 500 parishes in that diocese. Each has the name of the parish, a symbolic representation of the parish or a more general religious motif, to a blue background divided in three parts by a gold and red Y. See https://parishkneelers.co.uk/churches/suffolk/bury-st-edmundsbury-cathedral/ for smaller images of 81 of them.

Images donated and edited by Sytske Wijnsma.
