Dutch sampler around 1900
|
Artifact photo of a multicolor Dutch Berlin woolwork/needlepoint sampler with 58 design blocks, and one alphabet, and one motif. Blocks include texture stitches and snippets of repeating patterns. Two pages of modern recharting accompanies. The first chart contains 24 small repeats, the second one the ribbon motif, four large repeating patterns, two medium sized, and two narrow ones. The stitch patterns are not all reproduced, since they are more difficult to draw and can be figured out easily from the photograph. Repeats can also be used for cross-stitch and beading.
